The Russia-Ukraine War, the resulting changes in trade flows, the real estate bubble in China, enormous price increases in construction and land, temporarily higher interest rates, inaction due to poorly proactive policies, tariff increases, further announcements/threats from the USA, and much more...
In addition, there are technological developments, the most prominent of which is certainly artificial intelligence.
Roland Busch, CEO of Siemens, aptly made the following statement at CES 2026: "While the steam engine took about 60 years to fundamentally change society, electricity took about 30 years and computerization about 15 years."
Busch predicts that AI will transform global industry within 7 years or less.
And there are trends that have been evident for decades: Market consolidation is increasing, and sales practices that have been established for decades are being gradually undermined or ignored by existing and new market participants.
In this complex situation, recognizing what needs to be preserved and what needs to be developed/transformed through evolution is an enormous task for a company management, which may be neglected in the hectic and demanding daily business.

I come from the other side, so to speak: Over 30 years, I have gained valuable insights from various positions at leading industrial companies in the German and European market for building technology and civil engineering, developed strategic realignments with my teams, and successfully implemented them.
